I am beauty unspoilt. Culture preserved. I am a diver’s dream and hiker’s paradise. I am the trailhead to adventure and discovery, unlike any other Caribbean destination. I am volcanic peaks, boiling waters and underwater champagne springs. Sparkling waterfalls, rushing streams and rainforest canopies. I am celebrations of music, art and flowers. I am nature’s island. I am Dominica. Are You?
Economy: Dominica's economy is heavily dependent on both tourism and agriculture.
Bananas and other agriculture dominate Dominica's economy, and nearly one-third of the labour force works in agriculture.
Dominica became the first British Caribbean colony to have a legislature controlled by an ethnic African majority.
Dominica is an island nation and borderless country in the Caribbean Sea, the northernmost of the Windward Islands. The size of the country is about 289.5 square miles (750 km2).
The capital is Roseau.
Dominica is largely covered by rainforest and is home to the world’s second-largest hot spring, boiling lake. Dominica has many waterfalls, springs and rivers.
Morne Trois Pitons National Park is a tropical forest blended with scenic volcanic features.
There are two primary population centres: Roseau and Portsmouth
Visitors can find large tropical forests, including one which is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites, hundreds of streams, coastlines and coral reefs
The president is the head of state, while executive power rests with the cabinet, headed by the prime minister
Dominica’s currency is the East Caribbean Dollar.
Dominica is a beneficiary of the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI) that grants duty-free entry into the United States for many goods.
Airport: There are two small airports on the island. The primary airport, Melville Hall Airport The second is Canefield Airport
The population growth rate of Dominica is very low, due primarily to emigration to other countries.
Language: English is the official language of Dominica and is universally spoken and understood
Religion
About 80% of the population is Roman Catholic, though in recent years a number of Protestant churches have been established. There is also a small Muslim community in Dominica, and the nation's first mosque was built recently near Ross University.

Music and dance are important facets of Dominica's culture. The annual independence celebrations display a variety of traditional song and dance
Sport
Cricket is a popular sport on the island, and Dominica competes in test cricket as part of the West Indies cricket team
