Why the following syllable divisions are not accepted? /e.kstre/ because of its impossible onset /ekstr.e// because of its impossible coda 23.What is "ambisyllabic"? When one consonant stands between vowels and it is difficult to assign the consonant to one syllable or the other we would say that the consonant belongs to both syllables the term used by phonologists for a consonant in this situation is ambisyllabic. |
