نوري به روی زمين فرود آمد
A light descended on earth,
دو جاپا بر شن‌هاي بيابان ديدم.
visible, I saw two footprints in the desert sands.
از كجا آمده بود؟
Wherefrom had it come?
به كجا مي رفت؟
And where was it going?
تنها دو جاپا ديده مي شد.
Only two footprints were
شايد خطايي پا به زمين نهاده بود.
Maybe somebody had stopped on the ground by mistake.
ناگهان جاپاها براه افتادند.
Suddenly the footprints started moving,
روشني همراهشان مي‌خزيد.
Light followed the footprints,
جاپاها گم شدند،

The footprints were lost.
خود را از روبرو تماشا كردم:
I watched myself from the opposite direction:
گودالي از مرگ پر شده بود.
A cavity was filled by death
و من در مرده خود براه افتادم.
And I started to move in my dead corpse,
صداي پايم را از راه دوري مي‌شنيدم،
I could hear the sound of my footsteps from distance,
شايد از بياباني مي‌گذشتم.
Maybe I was passing a desert.

انتظاري گمشده با من بود.
I was imbued with a lost expectation.

ناگهان نوري در مرده‌ام فرود آمد
Suddenly a light fell on my dead body

و من در اضطرابي زنده شدم:
And I resurrected with anxiety:

دو جاپا هستي‌ام را پر كرد.
Two footprints filled my existence.

از كجا آمده بود؟
Wherefrom had it come?

به كجا مي‌رفت؟
Where was it going?

تنها دو جاپا ديده مي‌شد.
Only two footprints were visible
