C: Position for vocal fold vibration

2. When the glottis is wide open ,which phoneme can be produced?

3. In which state of vocal folds can we produce the following phonemes?

4. Explain the steps we take for the production of plosives?
A: the first phase is when the articulator move to form the stricture for the plosive .closing phase
B: when the compressed air is stopped from escaping . compression phase
C: articulator used to form the stricture are moved so as to allow air to escape .release phase
E:immediately after (iii) , post –release phase.
5.Name English plosives and give their features?

زهره آل ابراهیم آفلاين دانشجو ارسال ها: 27 Thank you received: 3	Explain the meaning of FORTIS ans LENIS Some phoneticians say that p t k are produced with more force than b d g and that it would therefore be better to give the two sets of plosives (and some other consonants)names that indicate that fact so the voiceless plosives p t k are sometimes called fortis(meaning strong) and b d g are then called lenis(meaning weak).
